The Golden Disk is an album cover design concept that aims to express the extravagant yet refined nature of alternative jazz.
Inspired by the graphic work of Kwon Dohee for musicians like Telemakus and Chino Corvalán, this project was my take on the visual articulation that can be achieved between music and its meaning.

The Golden Disk is an album cover design concept that aims to express the extravagant yet refined nature of alternative jazz.
Inspired by the graphic work of Kwon Dohee for musicians like Telemakus and Chino Corvalán, this project was my take on the visual articulation that can be achieved between music and its meaning.
Challenge
Challenge
There were challenges in both the technical and intellectual facets of this project.
Speaking of technicalities (and perhaps the most time-consuming phase), the difficulty relied upon my lack of previous knowledge of practices such as organic modelling and rigging. Two things that can sometimes have a steep learning curve.
On the intellectual/creative side, I was faced with the dilemma of how to effectively translate music into a visual representation. Modern Alternative Jazz, being so complex and rich, is not easy to analyze if you want to extract the core features that can be graphically leveraged.
